This year, we are providing extracurricular clubs for Year 6 pupils who have been allocated a place at York High School, as follows:
Recreational Football
These are fun, recreational sessions with a focus on friendship, teamwork and having fun. These are not intended to be competitive sessions; this opportunity is open to all, regardless of ability. There is a small charge to cover the cost of the York City FC coach who leads the sessions.
Photoshop Club
Photoshop is the leading software package for creating personalised greetings cards, eye-catching posters, and much more. No prior knowledge is required; children will initially be taught the basic skills and will be able to progress at their own pace. There is no cost to attend and colour printouts are provided free of charge.
Coding Club
This is a fantastic opportunity for those interested in computers, although the club is open to everyone. This is a 5-week course involving coding in Python which will take place in two cohorts during the Summer term. No prior knowledge of Python is required, or expected! There is no cost to attend.
If you wish to register your child’s interest in any of the above activities, please either complete this Google form or send an email to reception@yorkhigh.elt.org.uk with the subject ‘Year 6 Clubs’
(All activities are subject to availability.)
