York High School has been through a period of rapid and sustained improvement, and in our last Ofsted Inspection in September 2022, we were delighted to receive a ‘Good’ rating.
We are a genuine comprehensive school that seeks to maximise the potential of all students. Our journey of improvement started with the consistency of a positive behaviour system that has revolutionised the learning environment. This has allowed high quality CPD to increase the quality of Teaching and Learning throughout the school. We have totally rewritten a sequenced and interleaved curriculum based on knowledge and skills and enhanced through our values of Resilience Aspiration and Success. Alongside this we have maintained strong support for our students pastorally.
York High School is a special place where ordinary is not enough to be successful, the school and its community pride itself on honesty and transparency.
There are so many opportunities for students at York High School through a range of after school clubs including rollerblading, climbing, badminton, fitness classes, swimming, anime, newspaper club, current affairs, languages and cookery.
Our school is at the heart of our community and is full of hard working, caring, confident and happy students.
